In February I was privileged to be in Bogota, Colombia. This was my very first trip to
this South American country. Bogota is 9000 ft. above sea level so it is quite similar in
elevation to our home here in The Rockies.
I was a guest of Pastor John Romick who is the pastor of Iglesia Cristiana de Colombia,
a most amazing church. It is the mother church of several congregations in Bogota and
extension churches in other cities in Colombia as well as in other nations. John Romick
is also the director of Rhema Colombia. There are branch campuses in other Latin
American nations. The Romicks were delightful hosts. Their three sons are strong in
faith. One is going to college and the others are deeply involved in various ministries in
The kick off service was a morning session with 200 pastors from the city of Bogota.
What joy it was to share the word of God with them. They are doing a great work of
reaching that city for Christ.
Iglesia Cristiana is truly a great church. The building is four stories high. It has radio
and TV outreaches. The production of these and the first class multimedia together with
the Bible Training Center all take place on site. All the work they do is with excellence.
The presence of the Lord is manifest in the services and it was such a blessing to preach
there the next two nights and the two services on Sunday.
